Continuing with the success of the 29% Giles 202 UL, Ultra RC is very proud to introduce the next plane in our "UL" Series of 3D planes, the Katana Xtreme. So, what makes the Ultra RC Katana different than other Katanas? We'll start first with what made the Giles 202 UL a huge success. In two words, "Ultra-Lite". Based on our research, and comments from many customers, the Giles is the lightest airframe of it's size in this class of airplane. Now we have the Katana Xtreme. What does Xtreme stand for? Simply put, "Xtreme-Lite". We are proud to say our Katana is lighter than the Giles. In fact, our plane with an OS 1.60, same set-up as our Giles which weighs 10.4 lbs., came in at 9 1/2 lbs. This is ready-to-fly with a Mejzlik prop, truturn spinner, slimline pitts, and included parts and hardware. Xtreme-Lite!
The Katana Xtreme design is part of our "UL" - Ultra-Lite Series and incorporates our "State-of-the-Arf - Revolutionary" construction techniques as seen in today's "High-End" competition designs which are now available in economical, traditional, "built-up" balsa and ply construction.
The Katana Xtreme is very light providing excellent stability, precision, and 3D flight. The control surfaces are large and double beveled, providing for plenty of control throw.
We tested this model with a OS 1.60 which provided excellent and unlimited vertical performance. This plane is feature packed. View the features below.

Pre-built and covered wings, tail assemblies, and fuselage. All necessary hardware including pushrods, landing gear, wheels, servo tray, Carbon Fiber Wing and Stab tubes, and a photo illustrated instruction manual.
Requires:
- Engine: 140 - 180 Glow engine or up to 40cc Gas
- Muffler: Tuned Pipes are suggested; however a stock muffler could be used.
- Radio: Minimum (4) channel radio. (Computer radio recommended)
- Servos: (5) High Torque - 90 oz. in. of torque - minimum. We recommend the use of metal gear servos. A higher torque servo may be desired for the Pull / Pull system. (1) standard servo for the engine. The control surfaces are very large and deflect over 45 degrees. A lot of power is required to prevent flutter and provide excellent holding power and full deflection.
